About this product
The Callaway XR OS Irons Set is a 2016 right-handed iron set with steel shafts in regular flex, covering clubs 5 through pitching wedge. It includes eight clubs total, featuring the True Temper Speed Step 80 steel shaft and a 38.5-inch 5-iron. This set is designed for golfers seeking a complete iron package with a focus on forgiveness and distance, typical of the XR OS line.
Our take
For the budget-conscious golfer, this set offers a full complement of irons at a mid-range price point. The regular flex steel shafts suit moderate swing speeds, and the oversized head design of the XR OS line implies added forgiveness on off-center hits. However, the set lacks a gap wedge, which may require a separate purchase for full distance coverage. The 2016 model year means older technology compared to newer releases, but for a player prioritizing value and consistency, this set delivers a solid foundation without breaking the bank.
