Our take
I got this starter set for my 8-year-old, and it's a decent bare-bones introduction to golf. The 3-wood is surprisingly easy to hit off the tee, and the hybrid works well for fairway shots. The 9-iron is fine for chipping onto greens. The graphite shafts are light, and the grips are thin enough for small hands. However, the clubs show signs of use—scratches on the faces and worn grips—so manage expectations. Also, three clubs are limiting; a putter would've been nice. For the price, it's a good way to see if your kid likes golf without a big investment. Just be prepared to upgrade soon.
